Make It Count

Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the Make It Count: Life Calendar app (“the app”) handles your information. The short version: the app does not collect any data. Nothing you enter ever leaves your device.

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Information you enter

To show your life on a 100-year scale, the app asks for:

  • Your name — optional, used only to greet you;
  • Your date of birth — to calculate your age;
  • Your country and sex — only to pick the matching average life expectancy; “Prefer not to say” is always available;
  • Your language and theme preferences.

This information is stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage shared with its own widgets. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Accounts or sign-inNone

Third-party SDKsNone
Network requestsNone — the app works fully offline
Location accessNone — your country is suggested from the device region setting

In App Store terms, the app is labelled Data Not Collected.

Apple features the app uses

  • Widgets read your saved details from the app’s on-device storage to draw the visualisation.
  • Notifications: if you allow them, the app schedules a local birthday greeting on your device. No push server is involved.
  • Siri and Shortcuts: if you use them, requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
  • Sharing: when you share a quote, you choose where it goes through the standard iOS share sheet.
  • App Store: the purchase is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.

Life expectancy data

Average life expectancy figures come from the UN World Population Prospects 2024, published by the World Bank (World Development Indicators, CC BY 4.0). They are built into the app. They are statistical averages for whole populations, not a prediction about you and not medical advice.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data at all, it does not collect personal information from children.

Your choices

  • Change or remove any detail at any time in the app’s Settings.
  • Turn the birthday greeting off in the app or in iOS Settings → Notifications.
  • Delete everything by deleting the app.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
